Sketch Set 1
Ghost
I wanted to have the player ghost look like a fiery little wisp. I
initially drew most of them without faces, but I don't know that it's
clear that it's a character, let alone the one the player controls
unless it has a face. A lot of these might be too cute/contradict the
style, but I think that will be easier to evaluate after once I have a
clearer idea of what the other character designs look like. I started
making the ghost have a feather like shape and to suggest connection
with the final Flight Statue.
Dash Statue
Hide Statue
The gorilla like character is an idea for the NPC that keeps the statue. The statue is worn as a hat (though levitating) and the player must exchange an item to receive the statue.
Flight Statue
These are more sketches for the shape of the animal it will be based off of rather than the actual statue. I wanted to make the phoenix based off of a secretary bird and a bearded vulture.
Roar Statue
These started going more into the style of the statues.
